From Stitched Owls to One of a Kind Whimsical Dolls: A Journey of Handmade Enchantment
Hi, Welcome to the NightMoon Atelier (NMA) shop.
I am Diana and the sole doll maker/crafter for all the dolls and handmade items listed in my shop. I began making plush owls and other animals in 2010 from clothing my twin daughters slowly outgrew. I slowly began getting orders from coworkers, family and friends which sparked an idea to create a handmade brand.
In 2015, my girls went off to the Airforce so I suddenly had more time to make my little dream into a reality. Also, around that time, I slowly evolved from plush animals to dolls. In the beginning it was just a challenge for myself and it took me about a year to feel comfortable enough to offer dolls for sale. As of today, I am focused on making ethereal, one of a kind fabric dolls for humans of all ages. I truly believe as adults, we must still connect with our playful side and keep our inner child happy and our imagination engaged. My dolls are intended to be works of art, for display and gentle play. I typically work in small batches to ensure each doll’s uniqueness. Each doll is made slowly and my process is very mindful and infused with peace and love. My home studio is my zen place for creativity, full of cherished pictures, dried florals, beautiful mementos and all my cherished materials, tools and notions I have slowly sourced and handpicked for my creations. I believe that handmade art connects us all and truly showcases each artist as an individual. I hope my dolls carry with them a human connection that will make each piece even more special.
